Outpatient nutritional advice
We advise clients with spinal paralysis, as well as those with neuromuscular diseases such as multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. We also provide advice for Pain Centre clients.
We offer advice in all the areas mentioned above.
Objectives of nutritional advice
A key challenge we face in nutritional advice is to guarantee high-quality nutrition that meets patient needs. We seek to achieve this by adapting the provision and combination of foodstuffs to suit the patient's clinical symptoms and needs. We have various devices at our disposal for measuring the basal metabolic rate and the composition of the body.
Nutritional therapy is also geared towards current and scientifically substantiated nutritional medicine. Central to the advice is the in-depth meeting in which questions, requirements and possibilities are clarified. The measures developed are continuously reviewed in the course of the rehabilitation stay and are adapted to reflect new events.
Intervention is implemented in consultation with the doctors, the nursing staff and, where necessary, the speech therapy department. The nutritional advisors also work closely with the catering staff.
The nutritional advisor for sports medicine will advise you on the subject of sports nutrition.
