When Guido A. Zäch established the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation in 1975, he laid the foundations for a unique, comprehensive network of services for spinal cord injured persons. His vision lives on today: the comprehensive treatment, rehabilitation and optimal integration of spinal cord injured persons in society. For years, he fought to defend the interests of paraplegics and tetraplegics, overcoming resistance and political obstacles in the process. With untiring commitment, he pioneered the unique network of services that went on to become the Swiss Paraplegic Group with all its facets.
