Donations to medicine make a key contribution to the care, treatment and rehabilitation of persons with a spinal cord injury. They enable progress to be made in research and therapy that would not be possible without additional resources.

Strengthening health and independence together

Following a spinal cord injury, medical care does not end with rehabilitation. Persons living with a spinal cord injury often need specialised therapies, treatments and check-ups for the rest of their lives. This support helps them to stay healthy, live as independently as possible and maintain their quality of life.

This is exactly what the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation stands for in the area of services Medicine. It provides access to medical services and future projects that go beyond the regular financing provided by health insurers or insurance companies. These include, amongst others:

  • Equine therapy

in which the movements of horses are used to improve balance or emotional well-being, amongst other things.

  • Highly specialised surgical services

which help to relieve pain, improve mobility and prevent consequential damage.

  • Innovative medical offerings

that open up new possibilities for people with spinal cord injuries and promote their independence and mobility.

How your donation helps

  • You enable innovative medical therapies and future projects
  • You help to finance specialised treatments that are not covered
  • Thanks to you, medical progress can be incorporated directly into rehabilitation
  • You improve the health, function and quality of life of people with a spinal cord injury in the long term

Every donation – regardless of the amount – contributes to securing medical quality and innovation on a long-term basis.
