Three stories, three fates, one film
“Day by day” is the new film from the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation that highlights the holistic network of services. Three wheelchair users tell their moving stories in a film lasting around 18 minutes.
Day by day – Dominique
In the new “Day by day” film, Dominique Hirschi from Huttwil (Canton of Bern) tells his moving story. In April 2013, the 42-year-old suffered a serious accident while kitesurfing in Egypt. Since then, he has had tetraplegia and has coped with life impressively.
Day by day – Peter
Peter Hofstetter from Entlebuch (Canton of Lucerne) offers personal insights into his life in the new “Day by day” film. In January 2018, the 64-year-old had a severe accident while doing some forestry work. He has had incomplete paraplegia ever since.
Day by day – Chiara
In the “Day by day” film, Chiara Schlatter from Thun (Canton of Bern) talks about her experiences and her life. In 2016, the 27-year-old fell onto some stone steps. She has been paraplegic ever since.
Film about the Swiss Paraplegic Centre
The Swiss Paraplegic Centre (SPC) is a private, nationally and internationally recognised specialist clinic for spinal cord injury, back and respiratory medicine. As an acute care hospital with its own intensive care unit and rehabilitation clinic, the SPC supports patients throughout their lives, even after they have been discharged.
