High-roof estate car solves problems
Two things are frequently seen when trying to transport passengers in wheelchairs:
1. The interior height of the vehicle is often inadequate.
2. The wheelchair user sits right at the back of the vehicle.
This is not the case with these high-roof estate car models. Various seating positions are possible, all with a comfortable interior height of 143 cm or 145 cm depending on the model. Flip-up or swivel seating systems allow a wide range of utilisation. When adapting a vehicle to a rear cut floor, the floor pan is lowered and a non-slip access ramp for the wheelchair is installed. A restraint system secures the wheelchair to the floor of the vehicle. A headrest and backrest provide additional security.

Peugeot Rifter Inspire™ – Drive from your wheelchair
Discover a new sense of freedom in the brand-new, wheelchair-friendly Drive From vehicle, Peugeot Inspire™ available only from us and Allied Mobility. The Inspire™ is based on the Peugeot Rifter and comes standard with the exciting Allure Premium features, including a colour reverse camera, enabling self-sufficient travel for wheelchair users.
The Inspire™ has an automatic liftgate and a wheelchair ramp that unlocks with a push of a button, allowing you to enter the vehicle in a manual or electric wheelchair with ease and sit in the driver’s or passenger’s seat without additional help. Our brand-new WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) lets you travel wherever, whenever you want. A “Drive From WAV” (DFW) is a custom vehicle that lets you drive from your wheelchair.
Ford Tourneo Custom Independence™
The floor of this vehicle has been lowered in the rear area. This provides an interior height of up to 145 cm, which means that people sitting in a wheelchair also have enough head room. This uniquely long floor pan allows the wheelchair user to move to behind the front seats. This is a considerably better position than the usual one in the rear of the vehicle. In addition to the discernibly improved driving comfort, it is also easier to have conversations with the other people in the car. The wheelchair is correctly restrained and secured with two electric belts at the front and two retractors at the back. In order to ensure that the wheelchair user is ideally restrained, a permanently installed three-point safety belt system offers the highest possible level of safety. This system is completed with a swivel-mounted headrest and backrest, which additionally increase the safety of the wheelchair user.
The vehicle can be optionally equipped with rotating fold-up seats in the second row in the passenger compartment.
