Enable patients to live autonomous lives
11 January 2018
Active Communication AG was established as a subsidiary of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation (SPF) on 1 January 2018.
Since 1999 the SPF has been providing people with a disability or neurological disorder with electronic and didactic resources to enable them to participate more and gain additional independence in their everyday lives. The team of 27 employees will continue to work in Steinhausen (Canton of Zug).
To make sure that patients will have access to the latest resources in the future as well, the SPS is also creating the Innovation centre for assistive technologies (IAT) at the same time. As a centre of expertise and a knowledge factory, this will be the point of contact for the new development and enhancement of resources for people with spinal cord injury. There are nine employees so far, based in Nottwil (Canton of Lucerne) and Sierre (Canton of Valais).
In line with the foundation's mandate, interdisciplinary teamwork will guarantee that the needs of those affected can be met both now and in the future.
