Wheelchair users today can choose from a wide selection of sports and of sports wheelchairs specifically designed for different requirements. These sports devices are precisely made to measure.
The difference between a wheelchair for everyday use and a sports wheelchair lies, among another things, in the weight, as components such as brakes and push handles, etc. are not needed. The materials used today contribute significantly to the reduction in weight. While sports wheelchairs used to be made of steel, today aluminium and – in the field of hand bikes – titanium and carbon are used.
“That won't work”, is almost unheard of here. Our Specialised Construction team and our prosthetists create solutions that enable you to participate in sports with a spinal cord injury.
Cross-country skiing in a special sledge, kite surfing with an adapted harness,
cycling with a cycling prosthesis, canoeing with a special safety solution – tell us about what you would like and we will be happy to help you.
