Feldenkrais is a method of movement training based on neuroplasticity and self-regulation. The connection between sensory skills and motor skills plays a key role here.
The task of our sensory system consists of perception, body awareness, movement control and coordination, and orientation both in the body and in space. This is why awareness is of eminent importance as it helps us to dose the use/expenditure of strength and to better control movement. With the Feldenkrais method, previously automated and frequently uneconomical sequences of movement are extended by means of new sequences of movement aimed at improved coordination, which are stimulated by fine movement impulses. In the process, body image becomes increasingly differentiated and detailed.
Feldenkrais in the SPC The method has proved its worth in patients with complete and incomplete paralysis and in patients with neurological diseases. Depending on the extent of the impaired function, this method can achieve an improvement in balance, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, breathing, speaking, gripping, sitting in a wheelchair and walking.
Our therapy offer is mainly available to inpatients. If we have available capacity, we also offer outpatient therapies.
Somatic Experiencing (SE)
SE is a psychology/physiology-based concept for the treatment and resolution of shock and trauma. The integration of emotional, sensory and cognitive processes allows the core of the traumatic stress reaction to be reached. The completion of the biologically inherent protective reflexes also leads to calming and improved self-regulation in the autonomous nervous system.
Facilitating kinaesthetic awareness / body image
Building up stability when walking or when sitting in a wheelchair
Reducing strength expenditure
Restoring functional connections
Improving breathing / Developing awareness of internal spaces
Treating pain in the locomotor system
Therapies for inpatients are included in the per-case flat rate.
Outpatient therapies can be settled through additional insurance. Please clarify with your insurance which costs will be covered before starting therapy.
